JH Girls Soccer Holds Trinity With A Shot, Scoreless

The junior high girls soccer team defeated Trinity at Greenlawn 5-0 at Newton Park. LaVille played solid defense, holding Trinity to zero shots on goal for the entire match. According to LaVille coach Blair Endicott, the Lancer defense was led by Cora Norman, Nora Nimtz, Karter Haney, Macie Aschenbrenner, Myla Mishler, Lexi McQueen, and Chesney Van Tornhout. Madison Mishler and Brielle Weber recorded the shutout in goal for LaVille. Weber got LaVille on the board in the fourth minute of the match, assisted by Annie Tyler. Tyler, McQueen, and Van Tornhout followed with goals in a six-minute span at the midway point of the first half. Allie Gorka then followed up a shot by Reagan Strang that bounced off the crossbar and put the shot in the back of the net. The Lancers improved to 4-0 and will travel to Elkhart Christian Academy on September 14 for a 10 a.m. start.
