Bremen - As the IHSAA football season turns to week four of the regular season, rivals Bremen and LaVille ready themselves for the 56th edition in the series. The Lions lead the all-time series, 39-16. BHS controlled much of the season prior to 2014. There was a brief interruption until the series resumed in 2019. LaVille has won the last eight straight meetings dating back to 2014. "Bremen is Bremen," LaVille coach Jeff Kaiser said when asked about the week four opponent. "They are going to mix up the run and pass offensively and on the defensive side of things they are aggressive and fly to the football." LaVille picked up its first victory of the season after a 27-0 decision at Central Noble a week ago. "Watching film on last week's game against Central Noble we liked how our team battled through adversity and worked together as a unit to get the 'W'," said Kaiser, who is 12-4 in his second season as the Lancer boss." Silas Laidig returns at quarterback. The senior signal caller has completed 21 passes for 345 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Tyrus Graverson is the top receiver, hauling in eight receptions for 98 yards and one TD. Carson Anderson leads the rushing attack with 337 yards on 60 carries and four touchdowns. According to LaVille coach Jeff Kaiser, Graverson will line up as a wide receiver or in the slot, while Will Stiles lines up at tight end and is a player to keep an eye on. Bremen's offense averages 22.7 points per game, while the defense allows 15.0 ppg. On the defensive side of the ball, Kaiser spoke about several key players. "Defensively some key players are the LB core of (Austin) Young, (Will) Stiles and (Carson) Anderson and DB wise (Tyrus) Graverson is all over the field." LaVille is coming off a 27-0 win at Central Noble in week three. Cody Allen rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 40 carries. After starting the season off against 1A #6 Triton and 1A #1 North Judson-San Pierre, along with the Cougars, LaVille now opens a five-week stretch of Indiana Northern State Conference games at Don J. Bunge Field. Kick is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game can be heard on Sports To The MAX 98.3FM. Join Tony Ross and his crew for all the action of LaVille and Bremen! Game on . . .
