JH Volleyball Falls To Bremen

The junior high volleyball team traveled to Bremen for a Indiana Northern State Conference match. In the seventh grade contest, LaVille fell to the Lions, 2-0. Zalea Schaefer led in serving, Karissa Richhart led in passing and had 3 hits (1 kill), and Emma Wisniewski led in assists. At the net, Richhart had 3 tips (2 yielded a point), Wisniewski and Savannah Pieper each had 2 tips (ending in points scored). Schaefer and Colette Morgan each had a tip. On the eighth grade side, the Lancers battled but dropped a 2-0 decision to Bremen. "We continue to get better at individual pieces of the game," said Jennifer Higley, the eighth grade coach. "I can’t wait for the day when we complete the puzzle and all the pieces fall into place. This group has a promising Lancer future!" Statistical leaders for LaVille were Savannah Wagner and Sophie Jones, who recorded two kills each. Savannah Wagner had four assists and Bella Higley added 2 assists. LaVille will return to action on September 26 against Knox. The INSC match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start
