KNOX - As we move into the sixth week of the 2024 high school football regular season, LaVille prepares itself for another run-heavy opponent. The Lancers play its third straight Indiana Northern State Conference team as they visit Community Field on the campus of Knox High School. LaVille leads the all-time series, 21-19. Over the last 10 meetings, LaVille has a 6-4 advantage. Kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The game can be viewed by clicking https://www.ihsaatv.org/?B=1124331 There will be a charge to watch this game. Knox is coming off a 26-7 victory over John Glenn. Senior Jake Conroy and junior Myles McLaughlin combined for over 270 yards and four touchdowns to turn an otherwise close game into a Knox victory. McLaughlin finished the game with just over 170 yards and three TDs, while Conroy added over 100 yards. When asked about the Knox-LaVille series and what the Lancers might expect in Friday's game, LaVille coach Jeff Kaiser said, "Knox is a program that has had tremendous success in the last few years, we have had some true battles with them the last few seasons and I expect it to be a physical grind out style of game." After leading 21-10 in the third quarter last week against Valley, Kaiser's club dropped a 32-21 decision to the Vikings. "Last week's film proved that if we don't stay detail oriented and play assignment football, then things will break down quickly," Kaiser said when asked about what the coaches and the players learned in the film room following the Valley game. "Unfortunately in the second half we got a little fatigued and Valley made the adjustments they needed to. We couldn't make the right adjustments to stop the counter." According to Kaiser, the Knox offense is led by McLaughlin and Conroy with a two-headed rushing attack. It's nothing fancy, just a hard nosed running attack. Defensively they are big, physical and fly around to the football. "We must play 48 minutes, force turnovers and score off them, have no turnovers and play assignment football," noted Kaiser when asked about keys to a LaVille win. "Big game this week and we hope to see Lancer Nation make the trip!!" Game On . . .
