LAKEVILLE - The junior varsity football team played host to Knox in a Indiana Northern State Conference game. LaVille rallied for a 14-12 victory over the Redskins at Lancer Field. Lawrence Wood converted a crucial 4th and 8 run to keep the game-winning drive alive. Wood then hit paydirt from 2 yards out for the Lancers. Lucas Underwood was on the receiving end of a 42-yard touchdown pass from Griffen Smith. Underwood finished the game with 5 receptions. Riley Filley hauled in four receptions, caused a fumble, and had a sack for LHS. Jose Mercado also had a sack. Caleb Skiles added a pair of point-after kicks. Peyton Cline recovered an onside kick and deflected a pass on 4th down to end the game. With the win, LaVille improved to 2-4 overall, snapping a 4-game losing streak. The Lancer JV will return to action on October 7 at John Glenn. Kick is scheduled for 7 p.m.
