A total of 399 teams will embark on the 53rd Annual Indiana High School Athletic Association Volleyball State Tournament. Sectional play begins on October 15, with championships held on October 19 at 64 sites across the four enrollment classifications. Two regional championship matches will be played in a doubleheader format at the same site on October 26 with each winner advancing to a four-team semi-state on November 2. The four state championship matches will be played at Ball State University's Worthen Arena for the 18th consecutive year on Saturday, November 9. Defending state champions are Hamilton Southeastern in 4A, Providence in 3A, Muncie Burris in 2A, and Southwood in 1A.  Due to the success factor, Providence will now play in 4A and Southwood in 2A for the next two years. LaVille will compete in the Class 2A tournament series, along with 103 other schools. The Lancers are scheduled to open the 2A Knox Sectional #34 against rival Bremen on October 17.  The first serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Winamac and Jimtown will play the nightcap, following LaVille-Bremen. Thursday's survivors advance to the semifinals Saturday, October 19 starting at 11:30 a.m. ET.  The sectional championship is set for 7:30 p.m. ET Admission will be $7 per session. There will be no all-session passes.
