PLYMOUTH - The LaVille bowling team opened the 2024-25 season. Quick's Lanes was host as the Lancers and Plymouth got things started. Coach Kevin Kubsch's boys' squad finished with a 17-3 victory, while the Plymouth ladies defeated the Lancers, 15-5. Both LaVille and Plymouth are members of the Michiana West Conference. On the boys' side, Lancer bowler Ryan Carmichael finished with a 485 series, while teammate Sean Kubsch added a 409 series. "The boys are really on target," said Kubsch. "We bowled some of the best we have seen since LaVille picked up bowling again." According to Kubsch, LaVille really had solid performances from Ryan Carmichael and Sean Kubsch. Andrew, Chase, and Ryan ... all-in-all a solid effort. When asked about what the Lancer guys could improve on, Kubsch said, "We missed some easy spares in game two. We will try to clean that up this week heading into the Mishawaka match." On the gals side, LaVille fell to Rochester. Brooklyn Smith was the top Lancer. Kubsch indicated, however, the coaches are pleased with what they are seeing from the girls' team. "We are seeing improvement every day," said the LaVille boss. "They are trending up. As we go throughout the season, we will put ourselves in a position for our conference tournament and sectional ... It's still really early yet."
