Third Quarter 'D' Helps Eighth Grade Eliminate Urey; INSC Final '4' Up Next

LAKEVILLE - LaVille Jr-Sr High School played host to a pair of play-in games as part of the 2024 Indiana Northern State Conference Tournament. In the eighth grade play-in game, LaVille rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Urey, 47-40. The Lancers played stingy defense in the third quarter, outscoring the Falcons 11-2 to take a six-point lead into the final period. LaVille hit timely free throws to withstand any rally by Urey to advance to the final four December 14 at Knox. Jonny Yoder led a balanced Lancer attack with 12 points. Liam Amor and Colten Schwitz had 10 each, Lucas Kreske 7, Ethan Burghduf 6 and Brayton Hochstetler 2. With the victory, coach Kody Amor's club was able to avenge a 42-38 loss to the Falcons just two days prior. In the seventh grade play-in game, Knox eliminated Bremen, 39-16. Amor's crew will face Bremen in the 10am game at Weinberg Gym on the campus of Knox High School. The LaVille seventh grade team will meet Urey at 11:15 am for a right to advance to the championship game.
