SOUTH BEND - After putting together three straight games to win the Everwise Bi-County basketball tournament, LaVille returns to the court on January 28. Coach Michael Edison's club will travel to South Bend to take on the Career Academy Trailblazers.  CASB will play this game at Success Academy, which is located off Ardmore Street about 30 minutes north of Lakeville. Junior varsity is scheduled to tip at 6PM ET, with the varsity game to follow.  We have not been able to find any live stream links for tonight's LaVille at Career Academy South Bend game. Last week, coach Edison watched as his club rallied from a double-digit deficit to defeat Bremen in overtime Friday night.  Then on Saturday night, the Lancers won a thrilling 39-37 to upset 1A #5 Triton in the title game of the Everwise Bi-County tournament. When asked about what is next for his LaVille team moving forward, the Lancer skipper said, "We are only as good as your next game. Moore, their point guard, is the key to their success. He is the best all-around player and does a very good job at penetrating and knocking in shots. He is very athletic and is good on the defensive end as well." Career Academy is 1-14 overall following a 60-48 loss to Fort Wayne Canterbury. "They will press some, half court trap,  run zone, and man to man," Edison said of LaVille's next opponent.  "They definitely mix their defenses up." LaVille moved to 10-5 overall after the Everwise championship victory over the Trojans. According to Edison, "We've got to take care of the ball and not have careless turnovers and we need to execute on offense. Career Academy also rebounds very well so we will have to box out and crash the boards from our end." The 2025 Earl Mishler Pilot News Most Valuable Player, Collin Czarnecki, leads the Lancers in scoring and does his part to rebound, assist his teammates and plays solid defense.  Also making contributions are Andre Gonzales, Lance Edison and Braedyn Foster.
