KNOX - Bremen and Knox picked up first round victories as the 50th IHSAA girls state basketball tournament opened on February 4 at the 2A Knox Sectional #34. The 2A #12 Lions used a 22-2 margin in the second quarter to eliminate Jimtown, 53-16. Bremen will now face LaVille in a semifinal game on February 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET. In the nightcap, Knox canned a game-winning 3-point basket to upset Winamac. The Redskins meet Career Academy South Bend in the second semifinal Feb. 7 at approximately 8 p.m. ET. The sectional championship is scheduled for Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. ET at Knox.
