KNOX - The 50th IHSAA Girls State Basketball Tournament continues February 7 with the semifinal round. LaVille is set to face off against conference foe and 2A #12 Bremen in the 6:30 p.m. opener from Weinberg Gymnasium. The Lancers and Lions are not strangers as this will be the 47th meeting since 2000-01. Bremen leads the series, 33-13, during that time. LHS coach Nicholas Amor is 2-3 all-time against Bremen, losing 41-36 in the Everwise Bi-County Tournament January 23. In the second semifinal, Career Academy South Bend tangles with the host Redskins. Knox upset Winamac in the Feb 4 first round, 36-34, on a last-second 3-pointer by Portland Minix. It will be the first meeting between CASB and Knox in girls high school basketball.
