By Scot Shearer | Feb 19, 2025 12:36 PM

SOUTH WHITLEY - LaVille traveled to Whitko for a non-conference high school basketball game Tuesday. The two teams battled back and forth, until a series of 3-point field goals allowed the Wildcats to lengthen their lead and ultimately prevail, 67-60, over the Lancers. Behind the grit and determination by LaVille, the Lancers remained close until the final horn. A major difference came at the free throw line, where Whitko was successful on 20 of 27, while LHS shot just 12 of 22. Senior Collin Czarnecki had quite the night, scoring a new school-record 44 points against the Wildcats. Czarnecki broke the scoring record that he tied back on January 28, 2025, that was also held by Carl Herbster, which was 43 points. Lance Edison added 12 points for the Lancers. LHS will return to action on February 21 against Gary 21st Century. The junior varsity game is scheduled to tip at 6:30pm ET, with the varsity game to follow.
