"Speed, quickness, and more speed and quickness!" explained Edison when asked about what Lancer Nation can expect from Friday's opponent. "They are extremely athletic, press a good portion of the time, have very good hands, and unfortunately are very skilled. At least one of their guards is a D1 player." Terrance Hayes leads the Cougars with 20.9 points per game to go with 8.1 rebounds per outing. He is also 21st Century's leading overall field goal shooter and leading free throw shooter. Lemetrius Williams brings 16.8 points and 10.2 boards per outing to the floor, Ronald Mosley adds 10.7 points. Elijah Musaddiq 8.4 points and Derek Scott 8.0 points for the Cougars. "They've got a tremendous amount of athleticism and get up and down on both ends of the court," said Edison. "They are one of the better teams we will face this year!" Coach James Scott brings one of the highests scoring teams in the state to Lakeville, IN. The Cougars average 70.0 points per outing, which is 13th in Indiana regardless of class and the best Class 2A team to date this season. They are 12-0 when scoring at least 70 points, with a 6-2 record when playing on the road in 2024-25. Gary 21st Century allows 55.2 points to its opposition, which is extremely close to what LaVille averages (54.9) this season. The Lancers are 11-2 when scoring at least 55 points and 8-2 in games played at the 'Cox Box' during the season. On the defensive side of the ball, LaVille is known for being one of the best defensive teams. The Lancers allow 44.5 points, which puts them in the top 35 regardless of class. LaVille is 10-0 so far in 24-25 when limiting its opponent to 45 points or less. LaVille is 13-7 overall following a 67-60 setback at Whitko on February 18.
