LAKEVILLE, IN. - For the most part, every two years the Indiana High School Athletic Association relies on enrollment numbers sent out by IHSAA member schools to form a two-year plan for class sport participation in team events. Recently, the IHSAA used a committee in several team sports to come up with the sectional grouping for fall and winter team sports.Those sports - football, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys basketball, and girls basketball - will start the sectional round of the IHSAA state tournament series in October for fall sports, late January for girls basketball, and late February for boys basketball. Below please find the sectional assignments for the aforementioned sports LaVille athletic teams will participate in. Sites for all sports are also included except for the confirmation for the girls basketball sectional to be named later. IHSAA SECTIONAL ASSIGNMENTS 2022-23 FOOTBALL Class 2A, Sectional 33 Teams: Andrean, Bremen, Hammond Bishop Noll, Lake Station Edison, LaVille, Wheeler, Whiting *Sectional first-round is scheduled to begin on October 21, 2022. Pairings will be determined by the IHSAA state tournament draw. BOYS SOCCER Class 1A, Sectional 35 Teams: Bethany Christian, Career Academy of South Bend, Elkhart Christian Academy, Lakeland Christian Academy, LaVille, Trinity at Greenlawn *Sectional first-round is scheduled to begin October 3, 2022 . Elkhart Christian Academy is scheduled to play host to the sectional in 2022. Bethany Christian is scheduled to play host to the sectional in 2023. GIRLS SOCCER Class 1A, Sectional 35 Teams: Argos, Bremen, Culver Community, LaVille, Rochester, Trinity at Greenlawn *Sectional first-round is scheduled to begin October 3, 2022. Argos is scheduled to play host to the sectional in 2022 and 2023. VOLLEYBALL Class 2A Sectional 34 Teams: Career Academy of South Bend, Hebron, LaVille, North Judson-San Pierre, South Central (Union Mills), Wheeler *Sectional first-round is scheduled to begin October 11, 2022. North Judson-San Pierre is scheduled to play host to the sectional in 2022 and 2023. BOYS BASKETBALL Class 2A Sectional 34 Teams: Career Academy of South Bend, Hebron, LaVille, North Judson-San Pierre, South Central (Union Mills), Wheeler *Sectional first-round is scheduled to begin February 28, 2023. North Judson-San Pierre is scheduled to play host to the sectional in 2022 and 2023. GIRLS BASKETBALL Class 2A Sectional 34 Teams: Career Academy of South Bend, Hebron, LaVille, North Judson-San Pierre, South Central (Union Mills), Wheeler *Sectional first-round is scheduled to begin January 31, 2023. A host site has not yet been determined for 2022 and 2023.
