LAKEVILLE - The Lancer Boys were back in town for some baseball after a long winter. Despite the cold temps, the Lancers brought the heat to secure the 11-6 win against a solid Urey team. Dominick Martin was leadoff for the Lancers, getting on base 4 times in the outing with three runs scored. His offensive performance set the pace for the Lancer team that scored multiple runs in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th innings. Kyler Christy also had three runs scored, with Colten Schwitz and Payten Slisz contributing with a pair of runs each. Jonny Yoder also added a run. Colten Schwitz pitched four-and-a-third Innings earning five strikeouts. Kyler Christy finished off the game and threw two more strikeouts. Defensively, Yoder had a gem of a play at shortstop in the first where he had an unassisted double play, leaping to make an over the head catch before racing back to second to get the runner. LaVille, 1-0, looks to continue their season on Thursday, April 17, at Newton against the Trojans from Triton.
