LAKEVILLE - We are excited to team together with Jersey Mike's Subs as they sponsor a Player of the Week at LaVille High School! Coaches and LaVille Athletic Department personnel will select various student-athletes from baseball, boys golf, boys track and field, girls tennis, girls track and field, and softball. Our baseball recipient this week is LaVille senior Karson Quinn. He was nominated by coach Brian Lawler. According to coach Lawler, Quinn played a key role as the Lancers opened the Indiana Northern State Conference season with a pair of victories over Tippecanoe Valley. "Karson Quinn had four hits including a home run and seven RBI's in the conference series versus Tippy Valley," said the Lancer coach. Quinn is currently hitting over .500, with two home runs and a team-leading 17 RBI so far this season. He is also playing solid defense behind the dish in 62 chances so far in 2025. We had a minute to catch up with Karson to talk about his productive week, the season and the upcoming INSC series against Knox on April 24 and April 25. "Just happened to put a few good swings on a few good pitches," said Quinn about his power burst. "The season has been going pretty good. We have been competing with everybody even with some injuries." Following a 2-0 start in conference play and late-week battle coming with the Redskins, Quinn likes the new feel in the INSC. "The new conference has been a good jump in competition," said the Lancer catcher. "I think we are handling it really well and we are going to continue." Like some of his Lancer teammates so far, Quinn appreciates Jersey Mike's Subs for the acknowledgement. "I really appreciate it. It is always nice to be recognized for the work that you are putting in. I was definitely surprised. It is much-appreciated! I Think it's great to get this recognition.
