LAKEVILLE - We are excited to team together with Jersey Mike's Subs as they sponsor a Player of the Week at LaVille High School! Coaches and LaVille Athletic Department personnel will select various student-athletes from baseball, boys golf, boys track and field, girls tennis, girls track and field, and softball. Our boys track and field recipient this week is LaVille senior Cristian Bianchini. He was nominated by coach Kathe Beehler. We had a minute to chat with Cristian and ask him how things have been going during his school-year foreign exchange experience, track and field and his response to the Jersey Mike's Subs opportunity. "I'm enjoying the school, the people and meeting new people," said Cristian. "I'm very happy here." Cristian participates in three events for the LaVille track and field team. "I do the 4X800 relay, the mile (1600) and two mile (3200)," the exchange student from Italy said. And according to Cristian he laughed and said he "likes to run the mile. Two miles is too long and the 4X800 is too short! So it's harder." We also had the chance to ask him what he wanted to come to the United States, Cristian said, " ... the American culture and to learn English." For Cristian, he is looking forward to visiting Jersey Mike's Subs. "I've never been to Jersey Mike's, so I can't wait to eat at Jersey Mike's. I'm very happy about that!"
