LAKEVILLE - We are excited to team together with Jersey Mike's Subs as they sponsor a Player of the Week at LaVille High School! Coaches and LaVille Athletic Department personnel will select various student-athletes from baseball, boys golf, boys track and field, girls tennis, girls track and field, and softball. Our softball recipient this week is LaVille freshman Madelynne Geraghty. She was nominated by coach Garrett McBride. According to coach McBride, Geraghty had a pretty exciting week. "Madelynne had her first high school hits and batting .500 this past week with 0 strikeouts at the plate this season," said the Lancer coach. "She also had her first innings pitches only allowing two runs." She has been getting her high school softball feet wet this season. According to Madelynne, she played softball a while back and has returned to the game. "I think we have a pretty good team," said the Lancer freshman. "I play right field, left field, second base and pitch. This is my first year pitching." When asked about Jersey Mike's Subs, she responded, "I've never been to Jersey Mike's Subs so I'll be curious to try it."
