LAKEVILLE - We are excited to team together with Jersey Mike's Subs as they sponsor a Player of the Week at LaVille High School!Coaches and LaVille Athletic Department personnel will select various student-athletes from baseball, boys golf, boys track and field, girls tennis, girls track and field, and softball. Our golf recipient this week is LaVille sophomore Adam Aschenbrenner. He was nominated by coach Scot Shearer. We had a minute to catch up with Adam to talk about the season and the final stretch of the Lancer golf schedule. "I think the season has been going great," said the #1 LaVille golfer. "I do need to step up my game. I've been shooting the same scores, but I'll get more matches and tournaments and will be able to work on my game." Adam has the lowest 9-hole average on the LHS team and continues to prepare for the final four matches of the season, the LaVille Invitational, the INSC Championships, and the Indiana state tournament. "I'm really looking forward to our Swan Lake Invitational," said Aschenbrenner of the June 3 event. "We get to meet all these teams that we don't get to see during the season and see what they can do and play with different people. "I played alright in the conference tournament last year," said the Lancer sophomore after earning All-Conference Honorable Mention last season. "I'm looking forward to doing better this year." The INSC Championships are scheduled for May 24, LaVille Invitational June 3, and the IHSAA South Bend Sectional June 9. As we concluded our conversation, we asked Adams about the Jersey Mike's Subs recognition. "I think it is really cool. I've been there once, but that was a long time ago.
