INDIANAPOLIS - Congratulations go out to Olivia Grindle for successfully defending her 2024 junior high school bowling Indiana state championship. Grindle wins the 2025 state title by outdistancing her nearest competition by seven pins at the Expo Bowl in Indianapolis, IN. The LaVille seventh grader posted a 4-game series of 224-180-155-180 for a 739 series. Emma Gearalds of Lynhurst Jr. High School bowled a 732 series. "When they said second place was seven pins away from the champion and called her up, I got really excited," Grindle said regarding the final results. The proud Lancer started the event off with a high-game of 224 and finished with a 184 average through the four games. "I had a 9-spare in the first game," Grindle recalled of that opening 224 effort. "Then I had three strikes in a row. I had some other spares and then struck out. "It went really smoothly," she continued. "I had a couple of rough shots, but I was able to cover with spares." With the season completed Grindle knows there is work ahead if she wants to compete for the 2026 title. "It feels good. It is definitely exciting. I have one more year, so hopefully I can do it three times." Gindle also competed on the LaVille Jr High School team that also competed. The Lancers finished 10th as a team out of 13 at the event. "I want to thank my team - Noah Keen, Gabby Nace, Chase Hesch and me. Just very thankful!"
