LAKEVILLE - The football team will play host to Prairie Heights on August 15 for a scrimmage. The event is scheduled to begin at 7pm at Lancer Field. "It Gives us a chance to get (our kids) on film and evaluate who we feel can give us the best chance on a Friday night," said LaVille coach Jeff Kaiser. "And then those that will maybe not play a large role on Fridays, but ones that want to compete on the Saturday mornings/Monday nights. Prairie Heights will allow us to compete against some different colors for the first time and allow the staff to get a good look at the chemistry and competitiveness we currently have and also will give us a solid measuring stick as to where we are heading into week 1." Prairie Heights is a Class 2A school via the IHSAA enrollment figures with approximately 420 students in grade 9 through 12 and finished 5-6 a year ago. "Both the (blue and white) and Prairie Heights scrimmages allow us as a staff to see who wants to compete and make a difference in game-like settings that each will present," said Kaiser, who is 17-8 going into his third season at LaVille. "As far as players, they will find out if they are ready to compete in game-like settings." LHS is set to open the 2025 regular August 15 against 1A #12 Triton. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m. for Week #1.
