LAKEVILLE - Its GAMEDAY for LaVille Volleyball! Plymouth comes to Lakeville for a neighborhood rivalry match. The series dates back to the mid-70s, with PHS leading the all-time series.  The Pilgrims have won the last 14 matches.  The last LaVille victory in the series came following a 3-1 Lancer victory during the 2002 season.  Stephanie Czarnecki was the head coach and the team had players Mandy Bodnar, Kim Hansen, Ashlie Lehr, Katie McGee, Brittany Moore, Shari Papczynoski and Nikki Shafer. PHS welcomes first-year coach Ashley Koss and the Pilgrims have several players returning.  Leaders include Jersey Hunter, Eva Sheedy, Sophia Stein, Kristin Manges, Olivia Ringer, and Emaline VanDuyne. Koss might be new, but the rookie coach has five strong seniors - Eva Sheedy, Emaline Van Duyne, Olivia Ringer, Kathryn Morrison and Jersey Hunter.  Hunter missed all of last season due to an injury. Hunter and Sheedy are the top attackers, Ringer leads the defense and is the main setter in the 5-1 offense. A good group of juniors - Kristin Manges, Sophia Stein and Haileigh Olivarez - chip in for the team. LaVille counters with several players that are capable at the net.  Faith Mejer, Olivia Markin, and Madi Singleton lead the Lancer attack, with help from Ragen Wagoner and Lily Voss. Markin and Avery Lee share the setting duties in the 6-2 offense, while Mejer, Markin, and Lee are among a group of defenders for coach Pat Whiteman-Gring. The junior varsity match is scheduled for a 6pm start, with the varsity match to follow. MATCH DAY Teams: Plymouth (4-3) at LaVille (5-5) Site: Dale E.
