LAKEVILLE - The girls soccer team battled Jimtown in a Indiana Northern State Conference match Tuesday. Following a 1-1 tie through 47 minutes, LaVille lost a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Jimtown at Newton Park. JHS took a 1-0 lead early in the conference match before both teams settled for the one-goal halftime difference. Madison Mishler tied the match at 1-1 following a keeper save by teammate Denni Markin. The Lancer goalie stopped a JHS shot then booted the ball down field. A huge LaVille bounce send the ball over Jimtown defenders and Mishler tracked the ball down, outhustled the Jimmie defense and netted the goal to tie the match. Jimtown added two goals in the second half to set the final margin. LaVille is 5-3-1 (1-1 INSC) and will play the second of three straight loop matches against Bremen on September 11.
