Volleyball Set To Host Triton September 10

LAKEVILLE - It's GAMEDAY for LaVille Volleyball! Former conference rival Triton pays a visit to Dale E Cox Gymnasium for a non-conference match on September 10. The JV is set to serve at 5:30pm, with the varsity to follow. The Trojans are 8-5 overall following a 3-0 loss to North Judson-San Pierre on September 9. Triton started the season with four straight victories until a 1-3 string over the last four matches. Coach Derek Eveland brings in a Triton group led by four seniors and three juniors. Statistic leaders include Avery Viers in kills, hitting percentage and digs. Savannah Hawley tops the Trojans in blocks and serving, while Clara Doll is the lead setter. The Triton-LaVille volleyball series dates back to the mid-70s, Trojans leading the series 16-4 since 2007. THS has won six straight in the series. The last LaVille victory came following a 3-1 outcome on September 26, 2019.LaVille is 5-7 overall after a 3-0 loss to John Glenn on September 4. LHS is led by several players that are capable at the net. Faith Mejer, Olivia Markin, and Madi Singleton lead the Lancer attack, with help from Ragen Wagoner and Lily Voss. Markin and Avery Lee share the setting duties in the 6-2 offense, while Mejer, Markin, and Lee are among a group of defenders for coach Pat Whiteman-Gring. The junior varsity match is scheduled for a 5:30pm start, with the varsity match to follow. MATCH DAY Teams: Triton (8-5) at LaVille (5-7) Site: Dale E.
