LAKEVILLE - It's GAMEDAY for LaVille Volleyball! After a tough setback Wednesday against Triton, the Lancers will move forward with a key Indiana Northern State Conference match against Jimtown on September 11. The junior varsity is scheduled to start at 6pm ET, with the varsity to follow at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium. Jimtown is 6-7 overall and 1-0 in the INSC following a 3-1 victory over Tippecanoe Valley September 4. Coach Bill Stose's Jimmies are led by five seniors - Ava Armour, Brooklyn Barhams, Baylea Creech, Brookly Gillespie, and Flarity Harder - and four juniors. LaVille comes in with a 5-8 overall mark and 0-1 in the conference after a 3-0 loss to Triton on September 10. The Lancers are looking to break a four-match losing streak and pick up their INSC victory against the Jimmies. JHS leads the current series 14-3 dating back to 2004. The two clubs have split the last four matches. Coach Pat Gring's team last defeated Jimtown, 3-1, on October 5, 2023. LHS is led by several players that are capable at the net. Faith Mejer, who suffered an ankle injury Wednesday v. Triton and is questionable v. Jimtown, along with Olivia Markin, and Madi Singleton lead the Lancer attack, with help from Ragen Wagoner and Lily Voss. Markin and Avery Lee share the setting duties in the 6-2 offense, while Mejer, Markin, and Lee are among a group of defenders for coach Pat Whiteman-Gring.
