LAKEVILLE - The junior high soccer team erupted for four goals in an eight minute of the first period and cruised to a 6-1 victory over Jefferson Intermediate Tuesday at Newton Park. Clark Rowe scored a pair of goals, while Wyatt Harman and Logan Johnson each accounted for goals as LaVille built a 4-0 halftime lead. "The Lancers came out a bit flat on this hot and sunny evening then what they are capable of," said Lancer coach Brad Sherman. "However, after we were the first team to find the back of the net, we started to pick up the momentum.  The second part of the first half was looking better. We took a break at half time to talk about quality of play and key mechanics. When we started the second half, we came out like a new team." Rowe added his third and fourth goals of the match in a four-minute span of the second half to help LaVille improve t0 6-1 overall. "Our possession, control and overall enthusiasm for the game was at a much higher level," explained Sherman.  "We had more shots on goal and far better effort. Shout out to Clark Rowe for the Haul. We ended the evening game under the lights of Newton Park with the stands full of supporters that we can't thank enough." The Lancer junior high soccer team is scheduled to play its final match of the season on October 2 against Stanley Clark.  It will be a girl-boy doubleheader with the gals starting at 5pm and the guys match to follow.
