LAKEVILLE - LaVille volleyball returns to Cox Gymnasium to play host to Culver Community October 1. The Cavaliers are 14-11 following a 3-1 loss to Elkhart Christian Academy on September 30. Culver is led by Ashlynn Berndt and Hayden Lute in kills, while the defense is sparked by Berndt, Grace Millam, Chloe Lewis, and Haylie Parker with over 230 digs each for a total of more than 1,000 digs combined for the season. Sophie Grossman Norris guides the offense with just short of 250 assists. The Cavs service game is solid with a serve percentage of .918. Coach Andrea Berndt's team had a productive September, going 10-7, including matches at the Triton Tournament and Tri-Central Invitational. Culver brings a 6-3 record in true away matches, while LaVille is 2-6 in true home matches. Coach Pat Gring's club is 5-11 overall after a 3-0 Indiana Northern State Conference match loss against Bremen on September 25. The Last Lancer victory came against South Bend Washington on August 26, 3-0.
